Ichiro. Everyone knows him by his first name. Especially those of us that follow our beloved Mariners. He is about to make history. Last night, he rapped a triple to put him at 2,999 hits between the Major Leagues and Japan.

The M’s defeated the Rangers 7-5 last night. It was a barrage of homers by Adrain Beltre which was 2 of the 4 hit by the M’s. Noteworthy was Bryan LaHair’s first major league dinger.

Rhodes struggled some to make the game look like it could be a bad one. A key component of the game was the pickoff of /josh Hamilton at third base. Johima made the throw with precision.

Sean Green picked up the win and Brandon Marrow notched his 10th save.

Tonight the Mariners (40-65) will start Carlos Silva and the Rangers (54-52) send Luis Mendoza to the hill for an 8:05 PM EST start
